The Saskatoon Rowing Club is proud to present to you our first ever Paddle Party Pike, Head-Race

In past years, the SRC has hosted their annual head race on the South Saskatchewan River. However, due to low water levels, it is unsafe for crews to race on the river. In replacement of Head of the Sask we will be hosting a 5km headrace and 300m sprint races at Pike Lake. We will also be collaborating with the Saskatoon Canoe/Kayak club and Marathon Paddlers to have some friendly competition.

Boat and Age Categories

The SRC will be offering the following age and boat categories; U15, U17, U19, U23, Masters, Novice

Small Boats; singles, doubles, pairs

Big Boats; quads, fours, eights

300m Sprints 
Sprint races will consist of four boats per race, with each race featuring two kayak or canoe boats and two rowing boats. The number of heats will depend on the number of entries. Finals will be determined by placement and will consist of the two fastest rowing crews and the two fastest kayak crews from each heat. 

The intention behind this regatta is to have a fun, and challenging day of competition. In collaboration with the Saskatoon Canoe Kayak Club and Marathon Paddlers we have decided to host a joint event to encourage and support local sports organizations, and increase community engagement. Leaders within these organizations have come together to create a festival-like event that includes the following; A 5km headrace, a sprint race, a BBQ, music and entertainment, fun outdoor activities, and a camping experience.
